Gerald Pachoud is the managing partner of Pluto &Associates, a boutique advisory firm focused on global public policy and corporate responsibility. He previously held various positions in the United Nations and the Swiss administration, notably initiating and leading the program on business and human security at the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2005 to 2011, Gerald had the honor and the pleasure of serving as the Special Adviser to the Secretary General's Special Representative on business and human rights, Professor John Ruggie. In this role, he was closely involved in the development and in the drafting of the UN Guiding Principles on business and human rights. After the SRSG mandate and until 2015, Gerald was Principal Officer in the strategic planning unit of the Executive Office of the Secretary General in New York. He left the public service in late 2015 to to build and manage Pluto. Gerald is also Professor of Practice at SOAS University of London School of Law and serves as senior advisor to the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights. He sits on the advisory boards of various organizations and companies such as the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative and BASF, and previously on the ESG advisory board of Candriam and the Governing Board of ACCESS Facility.
